MEChA Calmecac- Resource for First Years and Continuing Student

Deadline: Wednesday, September 30, 2020

Hello students!

We hope you all find yourselves in good health.

To the first year students, congratulations on your most recent endeavor to UCLA! To the continuing students, let’s enter this upcoming quarter with hope! Before your Fall Quarter begins, we want to provide you all with support and information to aid your virtual transition to this university! For that reason, on behalf of MEChA Calmecac, we would like to invite you to take advantage of our free remote/virtual services available to all UCLA students and ask you all to fill out a survey to aid us in our First-Year Q&A program planning.

MEChA Calmecac is a student-initiated, student-run, and student-funded counseling & retention program at UCLA, initially established in 1989. During the summer, we are currently providing students with one-on-one peer counseling services to aid you in any of the following topics: time management, class planning, organization, goal-setting, self-care, learning new coping mechanisms, readmission, academic probation/subject to dismissal, financial aid, graduate school preparation, post-grad planning and so forth.

Our peer counselors are readily available to support you during this transitional time! All you have to do is visit our website to book your counseling session.

In addition, we are planning a Q&A event for first-years, first-year transfers, and continuing students. We plan to answer and go over any questions, comments, or concerns you may have during our event. However, to aid in our preparation, we ask that you all fill out the following google form: https://forms.gle/dxGYLREzuizMrZ1F8

Once again, congratulations on your decision to attend UCLA! We are here as a resource and strongly encourage you all to seek out our services, as well as other UCLA services!
