Learning Assistant (LA) Program- Recruiting Undergraduate Students

Calling all Math Majors,

The Learning Assistant (LA) Program at UCLA is currently recruiting undergraduates to be LAs for Winter quarter! LAs are undergraduates who have taken a course and come back in a future quarter to help facilitate learning in that course. LAs are most often present in discussion sections for a course and also sometimes hold joint office hours with TAs or instructors and obtain upper division credit for doing so. We are especially looking for Math-Related Majors, and this includes you!

Some courses that will be having LAs next quarter include: Math 31A/L, 32A/B, Math 33A, Math 115A, Physics 1C, Physics 4AL, and PIC16A. If you have taken any of the above courses, please take a moment to apply!

You can indicate interest in up to six courses (including Math, Physics, Life Science, and Chemistry courses). Those of you who initially struggled in these courses are highly encouraged to apply, since you may best relate to the struggles of other students.

The application deadline for Winter 2022 is November 5th, at 11:59pm. You can apply at this link: tinyurl.com/LA-W22-App

Please email us at uclalearningassistants@gmail.com for any questions about the program or application. We look forward to hearing from you!

Kind Regards,

Shanna Shaked and the LA Program Development Team (Michaela Bacani, Kaylie Bair, Naomi Michelle Hammonds, Bryan Luo, Mahfuzun Nabi, Alana Sur, Christine Tseng, and James Yoon)
