Dr. Rishi Sonthalia is a Hedrick Assistant Adjunct Professor at UCLA under Andrea Bertozzi,  Jacob Foster, and Guido Montufar. He has been awarded the Peter Smereka Award for the best Applied & Interdisciplinary Mathematics thesis of last year for his thesis “Metric and Representation, Learning”, advised by Anna Gilbert and Raj-Rao Nadakuditi. The University of Michigan will arrange for Rishi to present his work in the AIM seminar at a date to be determined.

UCLA Professor Deanna Needell joins the Class of 2022 Fellows of the American Mathematical Society (AMS) for her contributions to compressed sensing and the mathematics of data.
