Queen’s Road Foundation Undergraduate Research Fellowships

A rare opportunity for research where the funding is NOT restricted to US citizens only.  ALL STUDENTS ARE WELCOME to apply but you do have to be in your junior year right now.

This fellowship offers upper-division undergraduate students in the physical sciences an opportunity to work closely with a faculty mentor on a research project during their junior and senior years. This program aims to contribute to gender diversity in the physical sciences and to prepare students for graduate study in the physical sciences.

Selection criteria include academic preparation and achievement, interest in continuing for graduate studies in physical sciences, interest in mentoring other underrepresented students, and ability to do research full-time during summer 2022. Participants receive a $15,000 stipend during their two-year participation in the research program.  These scholarships will be merit-based only, and applicants must submit applications addressing the following three questions with 100-200 word responses:

  • What are your plans for graduate school?
  • Provide a list of academic papers, conferences, blogs or science books you found interesting
  • Do you have any thoughts or ideas on how to encourage science education?

Eligibility

  • Must have junior year standing at UCLA (transfer students welcome)
  • Must contribute to gender diversity in the sciences
