I have been teaching and tutoring math since 2014.  I have a PhD in math and can help folks of all ages with all math subjects.  I have a lot of experience in particular with linear algebra, differential equations, and calculus (including multivariable).  I focus on making a welcoming and inclusive environment while tutoring, with a mind towards helping fellow LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent students feel supported.  I tutor both remotely and in-person (masked) around west LA, and I use a sliding scale for my rates. I have been tutoring mathematics for grades K-12 since 2016, and university mathematics since 2019. I did my undergraduate study at UC Berkeley in pure mathematics and computer science, and in my time there, tutored for CS70 (discrete mathematics), algorithms, abstract algebra, multivariable calculus and real analysis.

At UCLA I have taught Math 33A (Linear Algebra), Math 61 (Discrete Structures), Math 170E (Probability), Math 131A (Real Analysis), and Math 184 (Combinatorics).

I am available to tutor for most lower division math courses, as well as several upper division courses, including 110, 111, 115, 121, 131, 170A/B/E, and 184. Besides these, I am available to teach any high school mathematics class.

I believe mathematics is something that everyone should have equal opportunity to experience, and I find it very rewarding to work with students and build mathematical confidence and mathematical maturity together! Feel free to contact me via email to inquire about anything you need.

I have been tutoring collegiate/high school (SAT, Algebra I/II, Precalculus, AP Calculus/Physics, Linear Algebra, GRE, etc…) mathematics for over five years, and I am always excited to work with new people! Many of my students who were struggling in lower-level courses have gone on to succeed in Honors and AP coursework. I am very invested in my student’s success, and I go the extra mile to make sure that they meet/exceed their goals. See some of my tutoring resources here (https://rb.gy/h7tc6).

Han, Tom

I am a Ph.D. student in (pure) mathematics, and I can tutor all levels of math ranging from elementary school level to graduate level. I have given weekly evening lectures (as a teaching assistant) for both lower-level and upper-level math classes at the University of Pennsylvania for two years, and I was given the Excellent Teaching Award by the math department. I have also worked as an AP Calculus peer tutor in high school. Last year, I helped design a pre-calculus course for a nonprofit organization in New Jersey. I have also taught an elementary algebra course to 3rd grade students.

I can either tutor in-person (OK with anywhere in West LA) or over Zoom. Please send me an email if you are interested, and I will try to reply as soon as possible.

I have been teaching for 5 years and I enjoy helping my students develop intuition for the material. I’m happy to tutor any lower division mathematics courses as well as upper division analysis or linear algebra. I would also be happy to tutor any lower division physics courses or introductory computer science courses. Additionally, I can tutor high school or earlier mathematics, including for AP exams or ACT/SAT prep. If you are interested in my help, please reach out through email! I think tutoring ought to bridge gaps between mismatched teaching and learning styles within classroom settings. There is much more freedom and flexibility in a one-on-one environment, and as a tutor, I do my best to provide an individualised learning experience that best fits the style and needs of each student.

I am available to tutor Math 31AB, 32AB, 33AB, 110ABC, 131AB, 132, 134, 135, and 151AB, among others. Please refer to my website for more information!

I have been a dedicated math tutor since 2016 and have a rich background in working with students at a variety of math levels, from preparing students for SAT math and AP Calculus to teaching a number of undergraduate courses. At UCLA, I have taught MATH 31B, 33AB, 131AB, 134, 164, and 170S.

I specialize in high school math, SAT prep, AMC/AIME competitions, any lower-division UCLA math class (31/32/33 series), and most upper-division math courses (especially MATH 115, 131, 132, 170).

In working with students, I foremost focus on adapting to their learning style, as well as helping students refine and optimize their note-taking and exam-taking strategies. I have found this two-fold approach to be very successful.

Sessions can be scheduled in-person on campus or by Zoom. Feel free to reach out by email for more info!

I have been tutoring and teaching K-12 mathematics since 2017, and university-level mathematics since 2019. I completed my bachelors in mathematics at Georgia Tech in 2021, and during my time there I was a mathematics tutor for the university as well as a teaching assistant for dual enrollment courses for high school students in Georgia.

I’m currently a teaching assistant for the UCLA math department. For courses at UCLA, I’m available to tutor most lower division math courses, along with MATH 110, 115, 121, 131, PIC10A, and PIC 16A. I am also able to teach any high school level math courses.

I’m passionate about teaching and strongly believe in everyone’s ability to succeed in math! I’m available on Zoom or in person around UCLA’s campus. Feel free to contact me via email for more information.

I have a long history and wide variety of tutoring and teaching experience, ranging from kids in a middle/high school level/setting (so subjects ranging from middle school algebra, to middle/high school math competitions, to AP Calculus and other college-preparatory standardized tests like the SAT/ACT), to 2 years of TAing both upper and lower division math classes here at UCLA as well as PIC classes.

Like the other tutors here, I can help students in any lower division (e.g. 1, 3, 31, 32, 33, 61, 70, etc.) and most upper division classes, but even if your class is more “niche”, I will be both willing and able to work with you to figure things out together.

I believe that no one should be turned away from mathematics for reasons of price, so please do not hesitate to reach out even if you are constrained financially — I am happy to negotiate a genuinely affordable price with you.

I’m a graduate student TA who also has more than 3 years of experience as a peer tutor. People have described in my evaluations as, “very helpful” and “[someone who] cared about [their] success and a solid TA.” I can tutor 1) all of high school math (including AP courses) and Algebra 1, 2) SAT and AP exam preps, 3) Math competition preps (AMC 10, 12, AIME, etc.), and 4) lower division undergraduate courses (Math 31A-33A, Math 61, etc.). I can meet with you either on campus, or a quiet place in Westwood.

Growing up, my journeys with math were filled with many peaks and valleys. This has built within me a belief that anyone can enjoy math, and everyone should have access to math. It is my goal to help individuals meet their maximum potential in mathematical independence, rigor, and communication while developing students’ ability to experiment with mathematical concepts. Tutoring has been a part of my life for 7 years. I have worked with a range of students, between 5th grade and upper-division undergraduate-level math. I am able to tutor high school math, any calculus classes, linear algebra, abstract algebra, and analysis. My primary research interest is in the arithmetic of Shimura curves and their applications to Iwasawa theory.
