2024 Public Affairs Major Application and Application Information Sessions

The Winter 2024 Public Affairs Major Application is open Monday, March 4, 2024 at 9:00am (PT) through Friday, April 5, 2024 at 11:59pm (PT). To help you prepare for the application process, we invite you to attend a Public Affairs Major Application Information Session. Please take a moment to reach the information below for details.

APPLICATION ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be eligible to apply to the Public Affairs major, students must complete PUB AFF 40, PUB AFF 60, and two additional major preparation courses with a minimum C grade in each course, no later than winter quarter of their second year. Students can view detailed information about the eligibility criteria on the Public Affairs “Apply to the Major” website.

APPLICATION MATERIALS AND PROCESS

The Winter 2024 Public Affairs Major Application materials can be accessed on the Public Affairs website from Monday, March 4, 2024 at 9:00am (PT) through Friday, April 5, 2024 at 11:59pm (PT). To apply to the Public Affairs major students must submit their completed application materials via the online application submission form. 

Admission to the Public Affairs major is not guaranteed. Applications will be reviewed holistically based on academic performance and submitted application materials. Be advised that completion of course requirements, or a high GPA alone, do not guarantee admission to the major. Please make sure to complete all aspects of the major application. Incomplete and/or late applications will not be considered. Transfer students who were not admitted to UCLA as a Public Affairs major are not eligible to apply to the major.

Students who are applying to the Public Affairs major this Winter 2024 are invited to attend the Public Affairs Major Application Information Session to learn about the major application eligibility criteria and application process.
