New Undergraduate Awards

Thanks to the generosity of UCLA donors, the department has created two new awards for undergraduate students.

1. The L. and M. Gross Undergraduate Math Award is open to students in any math major for whom financial challenges are affecting their ability to complete their course of studies at UCLA. The department will make two awards of $7000. Consideration of applications will begin on Monday Nov. 21st.

2. The AIG Life Insurance fund for Financial Actuarial Math Students is open to students in the Financial Actuarial Math Major only. The department anticipates making five awards each of $500. The intention of the awards is to help defray the cost of students taking their SOA exams, but any explained educational need will be considered for an award.
