The Pre-doctoral Research in Economics (PRE) Workshop is an exciting opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing research in Economics and related fields.
The workshop, hosted by current pre-docs and sponsored by the PREDOC and the Berkeley Initiative for Transparency in the Social Sciences, will provide students with the opportunity to:
(1) learn about full-time pre-doctoral economic research jobs from employers at leading institutions;
(2) practice using quantitative social science tools and techniques; and
(3) build a set of skills that will help them to kick start their own research.
This workshop aims to make information about pre-doctoral positions more transparent and widely available, lowering the barriers that may keep many promising early-career scholars from pursuing research careers.
Students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply!
Our program includes panels and training sessions led by current pre-doctoral researchers. The program also features professors and researchers from institutions like Stanford, UChicago, the Federal Reserve Board and more, who will speak about pre-doctoral opportunities and the hiring process for these roles. Participants will receive a 6-month Stata licenses on a need-based basis.
The workshop will be hosted remotely from Saturday, June 12 to Sunday, June 13. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to schedule office hours with current pre-doctoral researchers and professors outside the workshop.
Interested students can submit an application here. Please direct questions to info@predoc.org.
