Professor Bertozzi and her team use mathematical modeling to forecast the spread of COVID-19

Professor Andrea Bertozzi and her co-authors published their latest COVID research findings in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.  Applicable to both future spikes of COVID-19 and future pandemics, the study points out the dangers of a COVID-19 spike after removal of certain health precautions.

“Our mathematical models demonstrate that relaxing these measures in the absence of pharmaceutical interventions may allow the pandemic to reemerge. It’s about reducing contact with other people, and this can be done with PPE as well as distancing.”
