UCLA Math Professor Deanna Needell has been named as one of the Class of 2024 Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) Fellows. Members around the world were nominated in recognition of their outstanding research dedicated to the advancement of applied mathematics, computational science, and data science. The SIAM Fellows are crucial members of the community and are honored for their service. Joining 25 other amazing distinguished members, Needell is being recognized for her contributions to compressed sensing, stochastic optimization, and applied data science.
