We are excited to announce that QCSA will be hosting the first workshop of the quarter next week!
QCSA will be holding an Intro to Quantum Computing Workshop led by Amanda Younes. Amanda is a third year physics undergraduate who is also a member of our QCSA leadership team. She is working in Professor Campbell’s group here at UCLA and is mainly interested in atomic and photonic qubit systems.
Date: February 7th, 2023
Time: 5:00 pm
Location: Physics and Astronomy Building 4-330.
Amanda will be giving an introductory level workshop/presentation with the goal of introducing students with no experience with quantum computing to the field and its opportunities. It will cover the very basics of what makes a quantum computer, quantum gates and quantum programming, and applications of quantum computing. She will also provide a Jupyter notebook afterward to help out with some of the more difficult concepts, and will suggest some resources for students to learn more. The workshop is accessible for students who have not taken quantum mechanics or advanced math.
There will be free food and everyone is welcome to join! If you are interested in attending the event, please fill in this form, so that we can know your food preferences.
If you cannot make it to our in person event, you may join through the zoom:
