Resident Mentor Position for Summer Program

The Equity and Access Studies in Education (EASE) Project would like to spread the word to students about a summer employment opportunity.  The My Journey to College 9th Grade Summer Scholars Program (MyJTC) trains students to work as resident mentors (RM) for rising 9th grade students during a four-day residential program at UCLA. RMs will work with summer scholars to develop a college-going disposition, share personal anecdotes about the challenges and rewards of attending college (specifically UCLA), facilitate discussion sessions, and guide scholars throughout the four-day program. RMs will work alongside chaperones in ensuring the safety, learning, and growth of approximately 20 summer scholars. Additionally, RMs will live in the residential halls with the summer scholars and serve as a conduit for information between the chaperones, summer scholars, and program supervisors.
