UCLA Cal Teach Applications

UCLA Cal Teach is now accepting applications for our Winter Quarter 2024 courses!

We offer UCLA science and math majors the opportunity to explore teaching as a career.

Specifically, our quarterly seminars include internships in K-12 schools where you can help out with science and math activities, interact with kids, learn about teaching, and observe different teachers in action.

This is a great opportunity to improve your science and math teaching, communication and outreach skills, regardless of your ultimate career choice.

We are planning to offer the following courses for Winter 2024:

  1. Math 74XP (Elementary School, Math Focus) – 3 units/pass no pass
  2. Science Education 1XP (Elementary School, Science Focus) – 2 units/pass no pass
  3. Science Education 10XP (Middle School, Science Focus) – 2 units/pass no pass
  4. Science Education 100XP (High School, Science Focus) – 5 units/letter grading

The seminar portion will meet once per week (in-person) for all four courses. Courses will be associated with a total of 20-24 hours of engagement at our partner schools (~2.5-3.5 hours per week). School visits will be in-person.
