The UMC is a student-run, student-led group with the purpose of fostering communication between math students and the department, creating a more inclusive space, and making Math Bruins of all identities feel welcome. – Running an Instagram to promote math-related events/resources/opportunities as well as raise awareness of the immense diversity of the global Mathematical community
- – Creating student-support resources like advice columns, guides for navigating the math majors, and peer-reviews of math courses
- – Organizing and promoting math-related events, like Q&As with Pablo Ocal, a UCLA Postdoc, and Justin Williams, a Quantitative Analyst with the LA Dodgers, that discuss everything from educational and career advice to cool areas of math to EDI at UCLA and in math communities
