Message In a Melody
Message in a Melody (MIM) is an organization composed of a diverse group of students with unique interests who have come together through their love of music to fight and spread educational awareness about pediatric cancer. MIM works locally to contribute to pediatric cancer research at Mattel Children’s Hospital by fundraising and directly working with the patients to show them the healing power of music.
In the past, we have hosted dinners at Mattel Children’s Hospital for the families of pediatric cancer patients. We have also hosted live music events to fundraise for pediatric cancer research. In addition, we make monthly playlists to send to these children so that they have new and enjoyable music to listen to during their difficult time. As we grow, we are looking to host more events such as these and add more opportunities for students with various interests.
MIM does not require you to have any musical talents, as there are many ways to enjoy music. We are looking for students who have a passion for making a difference and fighting pediatric cancer. Our students all have different educational backgrounds and various career goals to help us achieve this goal.
