Heart in Hand LA

Dear Bruins,

During these unprecedented times in our society, thousands of disadvantaged individuals in our communities are at risk of significant health repercussions or even death. While the majority of our country has the basic necessities to protect themselves from COVID-19, the vulnerable populations of Los Angeles need help to keep themselves safe.

Heart in Hand LA is a student-run community service group founded by UCLA students in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We seek to create safer living conditions for those experiencing homelessness, as well as undocumented students and ethnic minorities during a time when they need it most. We strive to achieve this goal by providing these communities with homemade masks, hygiene packages, clean clothes, food, water, and health/social work-related resources.

PILOT Winter Applications and Week 3 Panel

PILOT (Public Health Initiative: Leaders of Tomorrow) is now accepting applications for winter 2022! PILOT is UCLA’s only pre-professional public health organization. [Math for LA] Scholarship Opportunity

Are you interested in pursuing a career in K-12 education?! Are you a junior who will be senior math for teaching major or minor? Are you a sophomore planning on applying for the Integrated Pathway? Are you a junior who has already applied to be in the Joint Math Education Pathway? Then apply to earn up to $4500 in tuition and fees! The Curtis Center is excited to provide the following opportunity for undergraduates in the mathematics department interested in pursuing a career in K-12 education.

Math for LA Scholarship: Deadline is February 4th at 11:59 pm

This scholarship is an opportunity for undergraduates to create a lesson with original intellectual property that facilitates student understanding of why a particular piece of mathematics is true or how a particular piece of mathematics is used by people. Winter Quarter CPO Food Card Program

The program will be available to all undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Since funding is limited, the food cards will be distributed to students who demonstrate the greatest need.

The application can be found at http://www.cpo.ucla.edu/foodcard and the deadline to apply is Friday, January 21, 2022 at 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST).

Mathematical Contest in Modeling 2022
